I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.
- Would you ever use the word START (Alfa) in common language unless there is an end (Omega)? In no understanding of our human insights will we ever use these two words in the same sentence unless we want to convey that we believe in both a recognizable beginning as well as a recognizable end. (Which is the reason the sentence was constructed this way by the Lord.)
- The above words God utters means that the Lord was the beginning but he is now and surely we understand that as long as Jesus has not come yet, there is a promise of more (wisdom, revelation, insight, love, unfolding of God's plan, .......) to happen before everything is finished.
- It clearly refers to a measured time scale determined by the Almighty and does not necessarily correspond to our own understanding and delineation of time.
- It is also clear that there is a predetermined set of events that have been ordained (and to which the end is subject) to take place between the Alpha and the Omega phases.
- It is indicated as a continuous happening and indicates that the end has not yet been reached.
- The scripture wants us to understand that we will not see the end or experience it before the Almighty has not determined it. By implication, therefore, you understand that it is not impossible to understand, but that you have to undergo a change of attitude ("in the spirit") to understand and recognize the things to follow..
